The best app to find the cheapest flights near you. Whether you are flying for a quick stop in the UK from Amsterdam or flying long-haul from Canada to Australia – SkyScanner has got you covered.
3. Hostel World
Wondering where you can find the closest, cheapest hostels near you? Find Hostel World for all your hostel-related queries. They provide the most up-to-date booking information, and you can book right on the app.
4. iOverlander
The best way to find campgrounds and accommodation when you are road tripping. Discover what works for your travel plans to find spots with Wi-Fi, electricity, kitchens, showers, and more.
5. Travel Smart
A travel abroad app owned by the Government of Canada. Find up-to-date travel information, such as natural disaster warnings and entry/exit information.
6. Roadtrippers
If you are planning on a road trip, make sure to download Roadtrippers. Plan your trip by exploring local culture, grabbing a quick bite to eat, or stretching your legs by going on a hike.
7. Eatwith An all-in-one experience where you can eat, explore, and chat with a local at your destination. While the prices may be a bit pricey, this is a great way to experience the city and local sights. Eat the local food and make new friends, all while enjoying Europe, Australia, or wherever you may be.
8. Eventbrite
Eventbrite is your go-to app to find local festivals, events, concerts, and more. While Eventbrite is based out of North America, they post events all around the world. Discover the perfect night (or day) out for you.
9. AllTrails
AllTrails have over 300,000 safe and explored trails across the world that take you around your local area. Whether you are looking to hike, bike, or run, there is a trail, track, or path for you!

If you have not heard of the infamous Duolingo Owl, you are missing out! Duolingo is the best language-learning app and is completely free to users. Take advantage of easy lessons, daily reminders, and measures to track your progress in over 40 languages before your trip abroad.

13. Wise
A free money transferring app. Not only does Wise let you transfer your money from one account to another, but it gives you a quote on how much it will cost to transfer, plus an on-the-spot exchange rate calculation.
14. PackPoint
Never forget another item again – PackPoint is the perfect tool for travellers. Choose activities you will be going to, your timeframe, and your destination, and PackPoint will create a curated list just for you. Bonus: it even includes weather-conscious suggestions.
15. Timeshifter
An app that helps you adjust to your new time zone and overcome jet lag. Developed by sleep specialists and neuroscientists, it measures your sleep patterns and creates your own personalized jet lag plans.
