Oh, Australia: the land of amazing beaches, lush landscapes, and sunshine galore. There are tons of young, adventurous travellers who have called Australia home – why not join them? Escape Canadian winter and say hello to an endless summer by migrating to Australia. Sounds like a sweet deal to us!

SWAP’s Work in Australia + Melbourne 4-Day Welcome Week has unbeatable value and is the perfect start to your working holiday adventure Down Under! After your first week’s mind-blowing introduction to Australia, you will be armed with a group of mates and the knowledge to help you transition smoothly into your working holiday. Whether you decide to settle in a big city, small town, or somewhere in between, our SWAP services will support you in finding a job and long-term accommodation, as well as helping you sort out your phone and bank account as soon as possible.

Once you have made yourself at home, you will soon get to know Australia as a local, make lifelong friends, develop your resume, and discover the best spots for flat whites and meat pies. With a minimum wage starting at over $20/hour, not only will you enjoy your workdays, but we reckon you’ll be able to fund your after-work outings and weekend travels, too. You can arrive any day and at any time and our trusted driver will be waiting for you! Your guide will be in touch one week before your arrival with your personalized 4-day Welcome itinerary, so you know what to expect for your time with us.   Want to arrive a few days earlier to get over your jet lag or explore on your own? Get in touch if you want to book any extra nights. We’d be happy to arrange it for you!

Day 2: Get Set Up, Meet Your Guide and Get a Taste of Melbourne
First things first, we’ll get some business out of the way by helping you set up your SIM card, bank account and tax file number so you’re ready to go for the rest of your trip.   After that, it’s time to take you on a personalised walking tour of the city so we can show you it’s even better than you imagined. Highlights of the tour will include street art, quirky laneways, an insight into our world-famous café culture, as well as Melbourne’s sports obsession, all with a bit of history sprinkled on top. Make sure you have your phone charged – Melbourne is ridiculously Instagrammable!

Day 3: Work and Travel Help
Planning a year abroad is a lot of work, but we’re here to help make your Aussie adventure epic. You’ll get a 1-on-1 session with your guide, an expert in all things work and travel in this beautiful country. Whether you need accommodation, a new job, or want help planning the perfect trip, we’ve got you covered. At the end of this day, we’ll have you 100% ready, relaxed, and excited to take on Australia!

Day 4: Discover More of Melbourne & Party
We’ve already shown you our favourite parts of Melbourne, but today you have a bit of free time to explore at your own pace. Don’t worry, we won’t leave you in the dark – we’ll give you plenty of tips on the best things to see and do. Whether it’s a secret gaming bar, more hidden street art, the best cake shops, or how to get to the famous colourful beach huts, we’ll help you get there!   After a big day, you can catch the sunset at Eureka Skydeck (ticket included) and look back at the magical city skyline from the viewing platform. You will also get a ticket to Melbourne’s biggest bar crawl, so you can experience the city’s nightlife and meet some new mates!
