What is an HI Card?

Can I fly on a one-way ticket? There are no restrictions regarding flying into Australia on a one-way ticket. But if you plan to do so you should get a bank letter for the full amount of support funds and carry it with you. Please note that flight costs out of Australia can be just as expensive, if not more so, as Canadian costs. Booking a return or open return ticket may be the better option.

SWAP South Pacific Combo FAQ: How much support funds should I have? You should save as much as you can – but visa requirements state that you should have at least $4000 CAD in total to satisfy both the Australian and New Zealand Visa requirements. When submitting your visa applications, Australia requires you to sign that you have at least $4000, though does not require a bank letter; New Zealand requires you to submit a bank letter to prove that you have at least $3300 in the bank. Please note, that if you do not plan to book a departure from NZ into Australia, the New Zealand High Commission requires you to provide a bank letter for at least $5200 CAD.
